WordPress hardening

Secure your site before it needs rescuing

Most hacks start with simple things: an outdated plugin, a reused password, or a backup nobody ever tested. I put those basics in order on your site, in steps you can follow, and leave you able to keep them that way.

I'll work on your site myselfWith everything made clear before work starts

Common signs

Noticing any of this?

Plugins and themes not updated in a while
Lots of admin accounts you can't place
You don't know when the last backup ran
You were hacked before and worry it'll happen again

How I work

Step by step, with your permission

An illustrative path; the details depend on each site and what we agree.

What you get

  • Accounts and permissions tidied
  • Safe component updates
  • Sensible security settings and headers
  • Backups with a tested restore
  • A simple monthly checklist

What I need from you

  • Your site address
  • Who hosts your site
  • What worries you most
  • WordPress admin and hosting access once you approve the quote, changed again after handover.

No site is 100% secure, but solid basics stop most common attacks.

Questions

About this service

Not necessarily. Correct settings, updated components and fewer privileges matter more than any plugin. I suggest what your site actually needs, and don't add tools you don't.

Good hardening doesn't slow a site; removing unused plugins often speeds it up. I avoid heavy configurations and test the site after each change.

Updating components and removing unused ones, cutting admin accounts, enabling two-factor login, blocking PHP in the uploads folder, and setting up backups that are actually tested.

Nobody can honestly promise that. But it closes the routes most attacks use, and makes spotting a problem and recovering much faster.

Usually yes, because part of hardening lives in server settings, permissions and backups, not just the WordPress dashboard.
