Hacked site recovery

Get your hacked site back

Getting hacked is stressful, especially when the site pays the bills. You don't need the technical details. Tell me what you're seeing and I'll take you through each step until the site is safely back online.

I'll work on your site myselfWith everything made clear before work starts

Common signs

Noticing any of this?

You can't log in to the dashboard
Your host suspended the site
The homepage changed or shows a strange message
Google shows a warning next to your site
Customers tell you something looks wrong

How I work

Step by step, with your permission

An illustrative path; the details depend on each site and what we agree.

What you get

  • A clear plan from day one
  • Access to your accounts restored
  • A cleanup or a restore from a clean backup
  • The request to your host or Google prepared
  • Prevention advice in plain words

What I need from you

  • Your site address
  • What stopped or changed, and roughly when
  • Whether you have a backup, and how old it is
  • WordPress admin and hosting access once you approve the quote, changed again after handover.

Lifting a suspension or warning is up to your host or Google. My job is to prepare the request properly.

I can't recover data that doesn't exist in any copy.

Questions

About this service

Usually yes, as long as you have hosting access or can prove ownership to your host. I restore access through the database or files, then remove any admin account you don't recognise.

Hold on. Many backups already contain the infection because they were taken after the break-in, and a blind restore wipes the traces that show how it happened. I check the backup first, then we decide.

I compare WordPress core, plugins and themes against their originals, review the database, scheduled tasks and users, then watch the site after handover to make sure nothing comes back.

No. I remove only what was planted, and keep your theme, content and settings. If an infected component has to be replaced, I tell you first and explain why.

I find the way in, such as a vulnerable plugin or a leaked password, and close it. Then I rotate the secret keys, update components and give you clear recommendations. Nobody can honestly promise perfect protection, but closing the entry point is what makes the difference.
