Redirects & injected ads

Visitors sent to strange sites?

This often only hits some visitors: those on mobile, those coming from search, or at certain times. That's why it's hard to catch. I trace the behaviour carefully until I find its source in the files, the database or the server settings.

Common signs

Noticing any of this?

Visitors sent to sites you don't know
Ads or pop-ups you never added
An "I'm not a robot" box blocking the site
Customer complaints you can't reproduce yourself

How I work

Step by step, with your permission

An illustrative path; the details depend on each site and what we agree.

What you get

  • The source of the redirect or ad identified
  • The responsible code removed
  • External scripts reviewed
  • A short report of what was found and fixed

What I need from you

  • Your site address
  • When it happens and on which device, if you know
  • A screenshot if you have one
  • WordPress admin and hosting access once you approve the quote, changed again after handover.

If the cause is an outside service beyond your site, I'll explain that and what can be done about it.

About this service

Many of these scripts skip logged-in users, repeat visitors or desktops, and target only mobile visitors arriving from Google, so the owner never notices.

Usually from a script injected into the theme or database, an infected or nulled plugin, or sometimes the .htaccess file. I trace the real source instead of hiding the symptom.

Yes. Google may flag the site as harmful and warn visitors, and trust and traffic drop fast. After the cleanup I check the site's status in Google's tools.

Because the code has usually copied itself elsewhere: the database, core files, or a scheduled task that puts it back. The fix is to clean all of them together.

I test from different devices and browsers, as a visitor coming from Google and on mobile, logged out, because that's usually the only time the redirect fires.
